Products & stock
Products carry their prices, GST rate, units and barcode. Stock comes in as batches with a buying price and an optional expiry; sales take from the oldest batch first, so you always know what is left and what it cost.
How do I keep track of what is in stock?
- Batches with buying price, MRP, sale price and expiry — old-MRP and new-MRP stock sell side by side
- Units and packs: piece, dozen, box, each with its own price on Business and above
- "Fits": name the phone or car models a part fits and find it by model name at the counter
- Barcode labels printed on any label printer, with the house Code 128 barcode
- Groups with sub-groups, bulk filing, and an importer for your existing catalogue
- Low-stock and stock-value reports per store
Where it lives
Available on: Every plan. On the web app at app.negobill.com, and on the NegoBill Android and iOS apps with the same account.
Step by step
- Add a product — Products → Add: name, sale price, MRP, unit, GST rate and HSN, barcode. Enter walks the boxes and the form stays open for the next product. Stock is added separately.
- Add stock to a product — On the product, Add stock: quantity, buying price per unit, batch number and expiry. It creates a batch, values the stock, and switches stock tracking on for that product.
- Import products, customers, stock or balances from Excel — Products → Import (or Contacts → Import): upload a CSV or Excel file, match your column headings to NegoBill's, check the preview, import. Rows that cannot be taken are listed with the reason; the rest go in.
- Print barcode labels — On a product press Print label, choose the label size and how many, and print on the label printer set for this PC. Products with no barcode get one with Generate; the label carries the name, price and the house Code 128 barcode.
