Add stock to a product
On the product, Add stock: quantity, buying price per unit, batch number and expiry. It creates a batch, values the stock, and switches stock tracking on for that product.
You need: Stock permission
- Open the product (Products → search → the product) and press Add stock.
- Type the quantity in the primary unit and the buying price per unit.
- Optional: batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates, and this batch's own MRP or sale price if they differ.
- Save. The batch appears under the product with its quantity; the stock report values it at the buying price.
Tips
- Sales take from the oldest batch with stock first unless the counter picks another.
- A purchase from a supplier (Purchases → New) adds the batches for every line at once and records what you owe the supplier.
Works on: the web app, Android, iOS.
