How to keep track of customer dues (udhar) without a notebook
Every credit sale in NegoBill becomes the customer's due; every payment settles the oldest bills first; the statement is one tap on WhatsApp. No notebook, no arguments.
The problem
A shop that gives credit ends up with a notebook nobody trusts: pages of names, amounts crossed out, a customer who says they paid, a total nobody knows.
What NegoBill does
- A sale to a named customer that is not paid on the spot is a credit sale. The bill exists, the due exists, nothing more to write.
- When they pay, you record Received cash (or UPI, or card) against the bill or against the customer. The oldest bills close first.
- The statement shows bills, payments and the running balance in plain words, and goes to them on WhatsApp.
- The dashboard shows what all customers owe you, and the contact list sorts by it.
Why it stays right
Every sale and payment posts to a ledger you never edit. A mistaken payment is voided, not erased, and the due comes back exactly. The books cannot drift from the bills.
Questions people ask
What if a customer already owed me before I started?
Enter it as an opening balance; it is a due like any bill and the first payment settles it first.
Can a customer pay part of a bill?
Yes. Any amount, against one bill or against the account; the rest stays due on that bill.
Can I see everyone who owes me, most first?
Yes. The contact list sorts by what they owe you, and the dashboard shows the total.
