How to track stock by batch and expiry date

In NegoBill every purchase lot is a batch with its buying price, MRP, sale price and expiry. Sales take the oldest batch first, the bill can name the batch, and the stock report shows what expires next.

The problem

Two lots of the same product with different prices and dates. Which one did you sell? What is the stock worth? What expires this month?

What NegoBill does

  • Add stock creates a batch: quantity, buying price, MRP and sale price, batch number, manufacturing and expiry dates.
  • A sale takes from the oldest batch first, or the one the counter picks; the line remembers the batch and the cost, so profit per sale is exact.
  • The stock report shows per product the quantity, the value at buying price, and the nearest expiry.
  • A batch is adjusted up or down with a reason; the books follow.

Questions people ask

Is batch tracking extra?

No. It is the default stock mode on every plan.

Can old-MRP and new-MRP stock sell side by side?

Yes. Each batch keeps its printed prices, and the counter sees both.

What if I do not want batches?

Switch the store to grouped stock; quantities are then pooled per product.
