Staff permissions: what each group opens and what to block

A staff login gets permission groups (Sales, Products, Contacts, Ledger, Reports, Expenses, Purchases, Counters, Box Cash) and can have single actions blocked inside them, such as seeing buying prices, backdating, voiding or resetting wallets.

The groups

Group Opens
Sales New sale, sale list, share, record payment, returns, pre-sales
Products Add and edit products, groups, labels; Add stock is its own key
Contacts Add and edit customers and suppliers, groups
Ledger Statements, Received / Paid cash, accounts
Reports Stock, product, service, GSTR-1, sale report
Expenses, Purchases, Counters, Box Cash Each its own screen
Buying price & profit See buying prices, profit and stock value — off by default
Job Cards, Recharge, Projects, Proposals Their add-on screens

Backdate a sale · Void a sale · Void a receipt · Reset a recharge wallet · See buying price and profit. A block wins over the group.

Where

Settings → Staff Access → the person → Permissions. Changes apply on their next action.

What does a cashier need?

Sales only: make, list and share sales, record payments. No Products, no Reports.

What does a store manager need?

Sales, Products, Contacts, Purchases, Reports; and if you trust them with margins, Buying price & profit.

Can permissions differ per outlet?

A person can be limited to one store; their groups apply inside it.
