# Add a product

> Products → Add: name, sale price, MRP, unit, GST rate and HSN, barcode. Enter walks the boxes and the form stays open for the next product. Stock is added separately.

## Steps

1. Open Products and press Add product.
2. Type the name. Enter moves to the next box: sale price, MRP, unit (pcs, kg, box…), GST rate, HSN.
3. Scan or type the barcode in the Barcode / SKU box, or press Generate to make one.
4. Optional: the buying price, the models it fits (for accessories and parts), a group, a picture.
5. Press Save. The product appears in Recently added and the form is ready for the next one.

## Tips

- Sale price is what the customer pays, GST included. NegoBill splits the tax on the bill from the rate you set here.
- A product that does not need stock (a service, a made-to-order item) simply never gets stock added.
- Units and packs (a dozen at its own price) are on Business and above: Products → the product → Units.

## Questions

**Does adding a product add stock?**
No. Add stock on the product afterwards; that is what switches stock tracking on for it.

**Can I import many products at once?**
Yes: Products → Import, from CSV or Excel. NegoBill matches your column headings.
